2015 Highlights.
These highlights posts are one of my favourites. I love looking back on the past year and reflecting on how much we have all changed and seeing just how much we got up to in the year. Time goes much to quickly when you have children, and I treasure every second of it. I make no apologies for how photo heavy this post is...I hope you enjoy looking back on our year as much as I have enjoyed putting this post together.
January
The start of the year brings my birthday. I was lucky enough this year to be given my DSLR camera as a gift and it has been a complete game changer. It has meant that I have taken so many beautiful photos of the children and our family - memories that can be kept and treasured forever. It has also made a massive difference to the quality of work I have been able to produce. I am still very much learning but photography is a real interest of mine and I look forward to continuing to develop the skill.
February
This month I saw my littlest girl turn 4. I adored her when she was 3, it was a beautiful age and her fourth year has been harder, but she remains gorgeous - my little ray of sunshine.
March
The last in the run of birthdays - my biggest girl turned 8. She really grew up this year, she has become so much more independent and is a fantastic big sister. I am so proud of her.
April
Our baby boy was christened in April - which was a really special time for us. We were joined by all our much loved friends and family and we really celebrated him joining our church family. I feel very blessed to be surrounded by such lovely people and know that Baby S is much loved by everyone.
April was also the month that saw me complete my first charity run. I ran 10k with the hubby in aid of Ty Hafan and we raised over £200. It was important to me to get some fitness back after having the baby and it was great to be able to raise some money for an excellent cause too.
May
The weather in May was gorgeous - I can really appreciate it now as I'm looking back at photos! We had a great half term filled with fun and outdoor adventures!
June
June brought more great weather, and lots of fun outside again!
It also saw the girls take their ballet medal tests and perform in a show in our local theatre. Not such a big deal for Bean, as she has done it all before but for JB it was a huge achievement as she was so shy before.
July
This gorgeous boy turned 1 in July. Seriously his little life is flying by so quickly. He really wasn't a baby for very long at all. Sob.
August
Talking of growing up quickly, the very next month he learnt to walk on his own. Once he was off there was certainly no stopping him!
In August we went camping for the first time as a family. A huge milestone for me, and one that actually left me with a lot of back pain for a couple of months but I hope the first of many camping trips for our little family.
September
Of course September brought with it school and this year JB went off to full time school with her sister. A massive change for me, and I wasn't looking forward to it at all but she has completely thrived and I get so much more one on one time with her brother which is lovely too.
October
We celebrated 6 years of marriage this month. I don't want to be cheesy, but this chap is genuinely my best friend and I love every day I spend with him.
November
We travelled to London to see Bean perform a show with her dance group in Her Majesty's Theatre. She was fantastic. Proud mummy alert. I also got to spend a day with the hubby and littlest girl in London. Amazing!
December
Well, here we are, the end of the year, a crazy christmas and we are ready to start the next year. Next year should see us move home, money will be tighter and the stress levels will be higher. I hope to have just as many highlights though.
What were your best bits of 2015? I'd love to know. If you are a blogger, leave me a link to your blog - I'm always looking for great new blogs to follow.
