myHummy White Noise Sleep Aid Review (with Bluetooth)
If you have been looking at the newest white noise toy on the market, look no further, here is an in depth myHummy review.
Baby N is our fourth baby so we knew exactly what to expect with sleepless nights with a newborn and we wanted to get prepared for it! I know from experience that white noise definitely helps babies to settle to sleep (and stay asleep longer!) so I jumped at the chance to review myHummy, the latest white noise sleep aid for babies. Things have certainly come a long way since I had my eldest child 12 years ago - products like this weren't available then and even with my second daughter I had to play white noise on my phone to her which meant I couldn't have the use of my phone whenever she was asleep and it made the battery die really quickly so it wasn't a great option!
As we have three older children, sleep is really important to us. I have too much going on in the day to nap with the baby so he needs to be able to settle into his cot for naps and enjoy a good bedtime sleep. I've found that using myHummy has really helped us to get those extra minutes and hours and I am really grateful for that! I really need my sleep and struggle in the first months of newborn days so anything that can help with that is a godsend!
Baby N has suffered with reflux (linked to various food intolerances we think) and he has struggled to settle to sleep well in the first few weeks, often waking in pain and needing to be settled. Sometimes the noise of myHummy is able to settle him back to sleep on his own quickly which gives me a precious few more minutes break.
It has also enabled me to get him into a routine of taking one long two hour nap each day which I really need as it helps immensely with his nighttime routine and it also gives me an essential two hours to work in the daytimes. I am blessed to be able to work from home around him but I like to be present and playing with him when he is awake and then I can crack on and get work done when he is asleep. If we have had a bad night or I am tired his daytime nap is also an opportunity for me to take a well deserved break, enjoy a cup of coffee and a vegan flapjack and read a book or watch TV or do some crafts. I'm always a much better parent when I've had a little rest and a break.
So I've told you all about how myHummy makes me feel, now let me tell you exactly how it works...
What is in the box?
myHummy is a gorgeous toy which would look great in any nursery. We received the Leon and he is gorgeous! He is lovely and soft and a really nice size. In the box you will receive your myHummy toy, the myHummy humming heart and a portable soft case for when you are travelling.
It also comes with a teething ring so that you can attach it to the cot or pushchair.
It is really easy to set up, you will need 3 x AAA batteries for the humming heart and you are ready to go.
What does myHummy do?
myHummy will play five different sounds, simply choose which one your baby prefers. You have a heartbeat, hairdryer, rain, sea waves and a hoover. You can control the myHummy heart by pressing it in the middle or by using the mobile app.
How to turn myHummy on
Just press the button on the humming heart for about 2 seconds or use the app.
How to change sounds on myHummy
Double click the button on the humming heart quickly or use the app.
How to change the volume on myHummy
Press and hold the button on the humming heart or use the app
How to turn myHummy off
myHummy will fade out after 60 minutes. It has a sleep sensor mode which means if it detects that your baby has woken up it will start again. The noise fades in and out gently so as to not startle the baby. To turn it off manually press and hold the button down.
How to activate non-stop mode
To activate the non-stop mode press the button 3 times quickly. To switch back to the Sleep Sensor mode, turn myHummy off and on again. It reverts back to the Sleep Sensor mode when restarted. Non stop mode lasts for 12 hours, perfect for overnight.
The myHummy app
One of my favourite things about myHummy is that you can control it with a mobile phone app. This means that I can adjust the noise and volume from my phone, turn it off and on and change it to sensor mode without reaching into the cot and disturbing the sleeping baby! It also means that I can control the myHummy from anywhere in the house.
It's washable!
One of the really clever features of myHummy is that it is completely machine washable once you have removed the humming heart. As I've mentioned Baby N has reflux so we have had to do a lot of washing over the last couple of months and machine washable toys are a must! It's also nice to be able to wash them when they are older and carrying them around everywhere as I suspect he might do with Leon as he is so cute and he has grown used to him!
The myHummy bears range in price from ยฃ39.99 to ยฃ79.99 but be careful as the cheaper models don't have the bluetooth option which allows use of the app. The Leon bear that we have reviewed costs ยฃ79.99. It's a lovely item and although a little pricey I can see that we are getting lots of use out of it and I'm sure it will be used as a soft toy when Baby N is older. It's the sort of item that you will keep and use with future babies too. Why not ask for one as a gift at your baby shower?
The team over at myHummy are so approachable and lovely, they made sure to mention that I should let you all know that if you have any questions about myHummy you can feel free to email them on [email protected] or message them on social media and they will do their best to assist you.

Ahh Baby N is gorgeous and MyHummy sounds great, I wish I had something like that when mine were little. I can recall placing JJ's bouncer chair our by the tumble dryer in desperation one day! Mich x

Desperate times call for desperate measures! They didn't have anything like this when I had my eldest either!
