New TV – should you rent or buy?

    Sep 27, 2023 by Ali · Leave a Comment

    Colab post

Time for a new TV? Already done your research and know which one you want?

Great - but have you thought about whether you should be buying or renting?

    Didn't think so.

Amid the excitement of getting a new TV the option of renting often gets forgotten but it's a great (and affordable!) way to keep enjoying the thrill of new technology.

Want to know more about why TV rental is a great idea? Here we take a look at some of the key advantages of renting over buying.

    How does TV rental work?

The idea behind TV rental is simple. Instead of paying out a large lump sum and owning the television, you pay a much smaller weekly, monthly, or annual fee. This continues for as long as you wish to keep the screen but if you change your mind at any time, finances become a little tight, or you decide you want to upgrade your model, you can simply return it.

It's this flexibility that makes TV rental a hassle-free alternative to buying new every time.

    Why rent a TV?

There are loads of great reasons to rent a TV, including:

    ·      To stay ahead of the curve

TVs are constantly evolving. Buy the latest model today and you'll be lucky if it's not been super-seeded before you've even opened the box.

Renting a TV makes keeping pace with technology much easier. So, if you want to take advantage of all the newest releases, renting is a much safer bet.

    ·      To try before you buy

Do you like to experiment with different technology? Not sure if you want 4K or 8K, OLED OR QLED - renting lets you try them all!

With TV rental you have the freedom to change your TV as often as you like. Whether it's testing out the different capabilities and features, or playing around with screen sizes in your lounge - when it comes to renting there's no need to panic about getting your decision right first time.

    ·      To stick to a budget

Finding the funds for a small regular payment can be much easier than trying to pull together enough money to buy a TV straight off.

With affordable, more manageable fees, renting puts you in complete control of your finances. And, if things get a little tight and you need to save, you have the freedom to return the TV or downgrade to a cheaper model.

    ·      To be worry-free

It's not just the expense associated with buying a TV that's stressful - for many people, that's just the start.

Tech is great when it's working but it can be frustrating (and costly!!) if things go wrong. This ongoing worry about repairs can be a major concern when buying a TV outright.

Choose a good rental deal instead, and you'll usually find that repairs and ongoing maintenance are included in your agreement. Meaning you don't need to stress or be without your favourite shows for too long.
