This is the last instalment of insights into our little family - our fabulous wedding in October 2009.
We got married at our church in Penarth. It was lovely to be married by our regular Vicar, by the Vicar who baptised me and Bean. It was nice that we felt at home there and felt comfortable there. Some of the congregation also came to watch me go into the church which was lovely.
I had three bridesmaids, and three flower girls. I chose dusky pink for the bridesmaids and ivory dresses for the little girls. My dress was by Justin Alexander and was nothing like I thought I would go for! What can I say...I just loved it when I put it on and I got so many compliments in the shop that I knew it was the one I had to go for. The flowers were simple rose bouquets, in matching pink and ivory with little diamonte accents.
We held our reception at the Vale Hotel, Hensol. They had a fabulous wedding planner and they really took the stress out of the day. We also had a great photographer who took some awesome photos to remember. Our rings were from Pravins in Cardiff and my engagement ring was a marquise platinum diamond solitaire so I had my wedding band shaped around it to fit. I still love them and one day I hope to have an eternity ring to complete the set!
We went on honeymoon with P & O Cruises on the Ventura with a 2 week cruise of the Mediterranean. Of course we took Bean with us! I can honestly say that yes it was expensive but it was the best holiday ever. I would thoroughly recommend that sort of holiday to anyone.
A friend told me that you take three things from your wedding day and those are the things to focus on - 1. Your Husband, 2. Your rings, 3. Your photos. It couldn't be more true - and I am delighted with all three!!
