If you follow me on social media you will have seen that we ran the Rainbow Run on Barry Island last weekend in aid of Ty Hafan. It was a brilliant afternoon and the atmosphere on the island was electric as everyone waited to run to raise some money for a fantastic cause!
Hubby and I ran the course on Porthcawl beach last year and this year the girls joined us. They were both really excited but as the race started JB got nervous and Daddy had to carry her on his shoulders the whole way!! He jogged most of the way with a rucksack and JB on his shoulders and he still beat me!
I ran with Bean and she was great for the first 2.5k but she definitely flagged after that! I'll admit, it was hard going running on the soft sand, I was tired! We ended up walking (fast walking) the last 2.5k as that was the only way I could keep her going. She loved getting covered in paint though and working your way to the next paint station was a real motivator!
I'm really proud of my little family and their charitable efforts. I know that Ty Hafan are one of the most deserving charities that I know. It's not too late to give a couple of pounds to this great cause, you can ย donate via my Just Giving page.
Here are a couple of photos from the day and a little video we made. If you are considering signing up one of Ty Hafan's fundraising events I'd definitely recommend it. You can see their list of upcoming events here.
