June Loves
I love reading these types of posts on other blogs so I thought I would start a little series myself. So here is the first - June Loves. A little list of my favourite things in June.
What I've been reading...
I've been reading this great book ย called Pressing Pause. It is one of those books that you pick up and read daily - I usually read it before I go to bed. It is a Christian book, but more than that, it guides you to find a more peaceful life. There are daily motivational topics, sometimes with a little challenge and it has really helped me to focus on the important things lately.
I've also taken the time to read some fiction books. This month I have been reading...
The Wilding by Maria McCann.
This book is based in 1692 and follows the story of a cider maker whose life is thrown out of it's peaceful normality following the death of his uncle. I won't give the story away but it is a really good read and I always find historically based novels fascinating.
In complete contrast I also read While My Eyes Were Closed by Linda Green.
This was a much easier read, and the ending was somewhat predictable, although there was an interesting twist near the end that I didn't see coming. It follows the story of a mother who loses her child while they are playing hide and seek. It is definitely a tear jerker and I cried my way through it. It made me hug my children a lot tighter too.
What I've been eating...
I've been really enjoying making these mocha protein shakes in the morning...
I've also been loving avocado on toast for lunch...
And these little Robinson's squash bottles have been helping me drink more water.
My Health and Beauty favourites this month...
I've been loving my Jamberry accent nail wraps. They last for ages and I like that I can change the colour of my varnish and keep the wrap the same. I'm tempted to go for a whole set for the summer though as they last so well.
I've been using this new razor from Friction Free Shaving. I must confess I was one of those people who would be using my disposable razor until it was disgusting and rusted. I used my husband's nice razor when I really couldn't use mine any more and I was amazed at how smooth it was. My new 'Samantha' razor from Friction Free Razors is exactly the same. It has five blades and glides along. I don't know how I did without it! The best bit is that fromย only ยฃ3 a month, 4 new blades can be delivered to the door. So I have no excuses for using a blunt, rusty razor again.
For my home...
I'm loving my new bathroom of course!
I'm also loving having fresh flowers again. They are so beautiful and really make a home look loved I think!
What the kids are loving...
The kids have been so busy this month. They have been loving performing in their ballet show.
Visiting Lee Abbey with our friends
Dressing up for 80's day at school..
ย
And having their bedroom's finished so they can have friends over to play again.
Wow this post is huge and has so many photos well done if you made it all the way through! Looking back there have been so many great moments to June and lots of things that I have loved! It is nice to look back with gratitude on those nice things and take a moment to really appreciate them.
To that end I've decided to open a monthly linky. For any bloggers who write monthly posts like these, be it favourites, or sharing the month's Instagram posts, anything that has a monthly theme really. Just add the badge to your post, link up below and check out some of the other link ups to share the love and increase your readership! I promise to comment and share every post that links up! The link will be open until the end of the month and another openย on the 1st of Julyย so plenty of time to get those posts linked up!

Gosh, we love so many of the same things! Smoothies, avocado on toast, peonies, subway tiles in the bathroom! I don't drink squash because they put so many artificial sweeteners in them, but I did recently find an Australian version of this called Stur which is sweetened with natural stevia and does the same thing as the little Robinson's pods. I think the Pressing Pause book sounds beautiful, like something that would really appeal to me. Thanks for sharing all these happy images and moments in your life.
