I think this is my favourite family photo of the year so far! Last week I saw on one of my friend's Instagram feeds that she had been to a sunflower farm that wasn't too far from where we live. I hadn't heard of this sunflower farm before and I was inspired to visit there and take some family photos.
Funny story is that it was a boiling hot weekend so we got up early to beat the crowds, wearing our co-ordinating outfits for the photo (yes I am that mum!) and headed off with a picnic hoping for a lovely morning out. But of course the weather had other ideas, we drove through thick fog on the way up there and when we got there it was freezing! Luckily we had some random coats and jumpers in the car for most of us!
We didn't let the weather stop us though and we had a lovely walk around the sunflowers and met the farm dogs who were adorable! It was lovely and quiet and I managed to get some really lovely photos of everyone. I always say to the children that when I die they are going to look though these photos and be glad that I dragged them out all the time to get these snapshots in time that they can keep and look back on.
If you liked this post you might also like to look back at our August family photos from previous years. I've just had a little look back on these and they are all taken when we are on holiday, either in the UK or abroad. No holidays for us this year, we aren't even going on a staycation so that's a little sad, but hopefully next year will be different.
